I thought I would share this yummy homemade Wild Orange Vinaigrette that I made today. I was out in the garden picking my homegrown lettuce leaves and parsley and I was inspired to make a yummy vinaigrette using Wild Orange essential oil.
To the salad I added some grilled chicken, cucumber, capsicum and coleslaw mix.
HEALTH TIP: Always remember to add some sort of protein-rich food to your salad so you get the feeling of fullness.
So here is how I made the vinaigrette:
You will need one small container with a lid to shake the dressing once all the ingredients are added.

Then once you have tasted your vinaigrette, check to see if you need to add anything.
This is where you add your Wild Orange Essential oil, I started with one drop and then added another as I thought that it needed a little bit more to give it that orange zing, however if you feel that it needs more add another drop. There is enough dressing for 4 people or keep the leftovers for another day 😉
Why use Wild Orange essential oil in your cooking?
Cold pressed from the peel, Wild Orange is one of my favourite essential oils due to its energizing aroma and multiple health benefits. High in monoterpenes, Wild Orange possesses stimulating and purifying qualities, making it ideal to enhance immunity when seasonal threats are high. As with many citrus peel oils, Wild Orange contains powerful antioxidants that help maintain overall health.
Note: If you are going to use Essential Oils in your kitchen make sure that you read the bottle and that they are safe for consumption. There are a lot of synthetic oils out there that should not be consumed. Before consuming or cooking with any essential oil, check its references and determine that it is certified.
If you are pregnant, nursing, or under a doctor’s care, consult your physician prior to using essential oils in your cooking.
